Ibid Nicolaisen, APRN
About
My name is Ibid Nicolaisen and I was born on the North Shore of Oahu and raised in Ka’u on the Big Island. My lifes journey brought me to Iowa where I met my now husband and had two beautiful children. I obtained my nursing degree from Upper Iowa University, then did a decade of service in the emergency room and medical surgical nursing. With the goal to return home to Hawaii I obtained a graduate degree at Creighton University as a Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN). This achievement made it possible to return home to provide quality healthcare to the people of the Big Island. For 8 years I have worked as a Family Practice APRN at Hawaii Island Community Health Center.
I myself have struggled with weightloss for many years and all the emotional and physical barriers that one faces along that journey. I witnessed the success of some people I love and respect using GLP-1 medications to assist in their weight loss journey. Amazed and intrigued I researched then I embarked upon my own journey with GLP-1 medications. After my initial success, I found there was a lack of availability and affordability to the island community. My strong desire to help people urged me to embark upon opening my own clinic so I can offer this as a tool to assist people in achieving their weight loss goals. I strive to develop personal connections with my patients while practicing a patient-centered approach to health care. I look forward to being alongside you in this journey.
